I’ve know Jackie Tatro of Tatro Therapeutic Massage since grade school. I recently ran into Jackie and we got to talking about her business as a massage therapist. Because stress and pain are no strangers to most of us, I was really interested in learning about Tatro Therapeutic Massage for Gina’s Kokopelli readers. I’ve had several massages over the course of my lifetime, and they’ve all been different. I was curious as to what set Tatro Therapeutic apart from the rest.
When I arrived at City Snippers salon in Meriden, Connecticut – where Tatro Therapeutic Massage is housed – I was really pleased to see the salon was clean, neat and well decorated. Jackie met me in the front waiting area where she had me fill out a very brief questionnaire. I was then led into a small but beautifully decorated massage room. After I undressed and laid on the table, I was pleasantly surprised to find the table was heated. This was a new experience! Jackie then draped heating pads on my upper and lower back. I felt completely cocooned in warmth and it was difficult not to drift off to sleep; that’s how comfortable I was!
When Jackie worked on me, she asked me if the pressure she was using was too soft or too hard. This was another first. Never have I been asked if the pressure was right. I like that Jackie asked because most people would be too apprehensive to correct the therapist – me included when I was younger! I’ve been beaten up and also rubbed with what felt like indifference. Both suck.
It is really apparent that Jackie is very serious about her work as a massage therapist. She spent several minutes working out two stubborn knots in my shoulders that have been there forever. Jackie never gave up and was able to banish them. Boy, did that feel great! One of the best parts of the massage was when Jackie wrapped my feet in hot towels and then used hot stones on the bottoms of my feet. That was heaven!
At the end of my 50 minute massage, I was thoroughly relaxed and exceptionally pleased with my experience. AND I wasn’t greased up like a pig chase at a county fair! I was able to put my clothes back on without worrying about staining them.
You can’t do better than to book your next massage with Jackie at Tatro Therapeutic Massage. Not only is she excellent, she also the cheapest game in town. Any 50 minute massage – Deep Tissue, Hot Stone, Myofascial Release, Orthopedic, Pregnancy, Sports, Swedish or Cancer/Oncology – is only $55! In my land of Frugality, that’s AWESOME!
If you want to pay even less for your massage, just mention Gina’s Kokopelli to Jackie when you make your appointment, and you’ll get an additional 10% off through April 30th, 2013.
