Review: ZekPro Personal Alarm with LED Light – Highly Recommend

I ordered the ZekPro Personal Alarm to give to my niece who is going away to college.  This item arrived very quickly from the seller and was packaged in a small box – perfect for a stocking stuffer. I wasn’t expecting it to be as loud as it actually was. The best thing about this alarm is that all you have to do to activate it is pull a pin out of the device. There’s no button to push. In an emergency situation, just having to pull the thing apart and not having to find a small button is a really good idea. I also like that you can put this on a backpack, key chain or around your wrist. It’s not just for one place.  The device also comes with a built in flashlight so you’re never without a light for walking at night.  This is perfect for a college student away from home for the first time, especially if they have night classes.

RockDaMic Wireless Bluetooth Karaoke Machine – $30

A couple of weeks ago, I acquired a RockDaMic wireless karaoke machine.  Let me just say this thing is COOL! It’s only $29.99 and puts out a great sound.  You don’t need to buy an expensive karaoke machine or <shudder> go out and embarrass yourself in public if you want to have some fun singing karaoke.  Just hook up your phone or computer to this mic and you’re good to go.  It’s really easy to use, too!

Remember how much fun you had as a kid using a hairbrush to sing along with your favorite songs?  A RockDaMic brings that fun back with so much more.  Not only do you get the experience of singing with a REAL microphone, this device also gives you Echo, Bass, or Treble. There’s also a button for powering up the microphone, and another one for adjusting the playback volume.

Lil Lockitz: Toys that “Unplug” Your Kids and Provide Hours of Fun

Many of the parents I talk to are concerned with getting their children “unplugged”.  Kids spend way too much time on the computer, in front of the television, or playing on their phones.   It’s even more difficult to get kids to leave the electronics behind when the cold weather sets in.   Finding toys that inspire and allow kids to use their imaginations is key.

That’s why I really like Lil’ Lockitz.  It lets your children express themselves and make something really personal for themselves and friends.  Kids can create wearable collages that tell stories.  Each unique piece can be customized with gems, backgrounds and charms.  The Lil’ Lockitz Memory Studio comes with 10 reusable Lockitz you can make into necklaces, bracelets, or keychains.  It also includes a design studio with storage compartments, lights, and music, and a display stand.  You’ll have everything you need to make your Lockitz including custom charms, tweezers, a photo stencil and instructions.  (Three AA Batteries required, batteries not included.)  Lil’ Lockitz will provide kids of hours of endless fun!  I know I would have loved this toy as a child.  Please note this toy is recommended for children 5 years of age and older.

BOGO Coupon for Suave Body Wash

suave

Did you notice the buy one get one free coupon for Suave body wash in the inserts this weekend?  It’s going to make for some really nice, inexpensive body wash.  If you didn’t happen to get the coupon in your inserts, you can also print one HERE.  If you haven’t tried Suave body wash yet, I highly recommend that you do.  I buy it all the time when it goes on sale and I have a coupon.  They have two new “flavors” now that are just wonderful!

I was lucky enough to get samples of the new Suave body washes.  The green one is called Cucumber Agave Smash.  It smells just like Bath & Body Works Cumber Melon.  The Purple one  is called Amethyst Sunset, and has the same smell as Bath & Body Works Peach Bellini.  I LOVE Bath & Body Works Peach Bellini and currently have it in hand soap form in my bathroom.  I’m definitely going to be buying Suave’s Amethyst Sunset in the future!

Sonic Flavor Funnel Blasts – You Gotta Try These!

No, I'm not driving in the picture. I just wanted to make sure I got a good pic before this thing melted!

No, I’m not driving in the picture. I just wanted to make sure I got a good pic before this thing melted!

Have you heard about Sonic’s new Flavor Funnel Blasts?  These are like their regular ice cream Blasts but in addition to having the ice cream thoroughly mixed with candies or cookies, you get a funnel of yummy goodness – chocolate, Oreo, peanut butter, or caramel – right down the middle of the ice cream.

Sonic sent me a gift card* to try these new treats, and I set out on a warm day (80 degrees in October!) to try one.  I debated whether to get the Oreo or Reese’s one, but settled on the Reese’s Peanut Butter Blast.  There were Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups mixed in with the ice cream and then a delicious peanut butter funnel.  Talk about decadent!

These Flavor Funnel Blasts are only around at Sonic for a limited time, which is kind of a good thing.  I’m not sure my waist line could take an unlimited supply of these things!  OMG!  So good!

With the weather still warm with the gift of an Indian Summer, I highly recommend getting yourself to the nearest sonic and taking one of the new Flavor Funnel Blasts for a test drive.  You won’t be disappointed.

*Sonic sent me a gift card to try the new Flavor Funnel Blast.  Other than the gift card I was NOT compensated for my honest review of this product.  All opinions are my own.

Angry Birds Go! Jenga Pirate Pig Attack Game Review

005

I was recently contacted by Hasbro to review their new Angry Birds Go! Jenga Pirate Pig Attack Game. It was a blast! My kids and I had so much fun playing it that we had a really hard time putting it down. The game is much like the regular Jenga game, but instead of pulling out the Jenga cubes one by one, you launch your Angry Birds characters into the pirate ship to see who can take down the ship first. Super fun!

Arr, matey! The popular Angry Birds app comes to life in this epic Pirate Pig Attack Game! Can you triumph in this fast-crashing game? Launch your birds to take down the dastardly pirate ship and topple the swashbuckling piggies on their perches! Load your kart and target the pigs just right with your launcher. When you take out the pigs’ sailing vessel, you’ll become the feather-flying champion of the Pirate Pig Attack Game!

Game includes 2 karts, bird, 5 pigs, launcher, ramp, ship base, left ship frame, right ship frame, left railing piece, center railing piece, right railing piece, 5 cannon blocks, 2 half blocks, 11 full sized blocks, mast with crow’s nest, flag with stand, sail with stand and instructions.
